PPG Healthy Elton Event – Saturday 26th October 2019
The PPG held a very successful Healthy Elton event on Saturday 26th October 2019. The patients who attended found it very beneficial. Our thanks go to all the organisations who attended, the PPG Committee for organising it and Elton Parish Council who supported the event.
Dr Sarah Lazarowicz
Dr Lazarowicz (formerly Dr Martys) is joining our practice GP team on Wednesday 21st August 2019. Dr Lazarowicz has previously worked as a locum GP here and will be well known to a lot of our patients.
2019 Flu Clinics

Saturday 16th November – Helsby
Dr Mills left the practice at the end of March 2019.
Dr Agnew retired from the practice on 30th November 2018 after being with us for 29 Years.
Dr Holliday left the practice at the end of August 2018 after being with us for 12½ years.
We would like to thank Dr Agnew, Dr Mills and Dr Holliday for all the help and care they have provided to the practice patients over the years. It goes without saying that we will miss them and we wish them every success for the future.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Colleen Porter
We are pleased to inform our patients that Colleen Porter, who is an advanced nurse practitioner, will be joining the practice in September. Colleen will be working on a Thursday and her clinics will be for patients who are in need of on the day care for certain illnesses and injuries.

August 2016 – Meningitis ACWY Vaccination – All Students going to University
Students going to university or college for the first time are being offered the meningitis ACWY vaccination. If you are planning on going to university, please make an appointment as soon as possible to have this done before you leave. You are more at risk of meningitis and septicaemia in the first weeks at university when you mix with lots of new people. However, even if you are not leaving for university you are still eligible for this vaccination so please contact the surgery to make an appointment.
June 2016 – eConsult: Contact a GP Online
We have introduced a new service called eConsult.
This allows patients who are currently registered at the practice to consult with a GP electronically, and offers alternatives to calling or coming into the surgery for common, more minor problems. Using this service you can also access self-help content, alternative options available to you e.g. pharmacy, symptom checkers, access to 111 clinicians and as already mentioned, the ability to consult remotely with a GP. June 2016 – Text Messaging Service
We have introduced a text messaging service for our patients. If we have your up to date mobile phone number you will receive confirmation of your appointment when it is made and a reminder approximately 24 hours before the appointment. We will also use the messaging service to contact patients about test results and other clinical campaigns that we are running. Please ensure we have your most up to date mobile phone number in our records and that you also notify us as a priority should that change in the future.
April 2016 – Physio First
Patients can now see a physiotherapist first instead of a GP. This is a new service and a physio can assess you and give you some advice on how to manage your problem or refer you for more care. Appointments are available at Helsby Health Centre and Princeway (Frodsham). For further information click here
